Sto per morire ma la vita è ancora bella
Buongiorno! The work and I are both slowly dying here. We've had to drop a few people who just aren't ready to accept the restored truth and progress. Which is sad bc I've been working with these people for a while.
On a happier note, Joy threw a Bday party for her little son and it was fun to drop in and party like a Nigerian for a bit. I somehow got dragged onto a trampoline with some bouncy little kids and I didn't know what do I was so awkward but kids don't care, they loved me anyways. I became buddies with 2 little German-speaking girls from Iraq. Also their Mom wants us to teach her English so score.
Today begins my last week in the mission. How!?!? But honestly, it feels right. My childhood has taught me to accept change and move forward quickly.
Last week we traveled to the Austrian border! It didn't look any different than the town we live in.
One last week in this crazy little town that has become my home. One more week to use these skills I've developed and invite others to come unto Christ. One more week to be a full-time missionary!
Food updates:
- I made Polenta and ragù that looks like a pizza
- fried pickles and a flanel...throwback to my PoFolks days!
- we spent today (my last Pday) making some crazy good lasagna. I'm fighting a food coma as I type this
- tender mercies: today was my last trip to the grocery store. And the shelves were filled with Lebkuchen and an assortment of other European Holiday treats. Needless to say I went crazy. Life is good.
- a final district sushi bc now district lunch is banned
Alrighty I love y'all and I love this gospel and I love being here.
Love,
Sorella Riley
