Rachel opened her mission call on Friday, January 20, 2017, at 12 noon, with her sister Eliza, roommate Mikayla, and college friends (video above). She was in class that morning when the mail desk called to tell her that the mission call had arrived. I watched from Florida on Skype and Lyrad listened on his phone at work.
One of the first things Rachel asked for were pictures of her in northern Italy in 2006 (we camped across Italy and visited Cinque Terre, Venice, Verona, Pisa, Florence) when she was 8 and we lived in Germany.
