*think Nacho Libre voice* you have been...baptiiized!!!
We experienced so many emotions on Saturday. Running around like headless chickens making sure everything will go as needed and being crazy stressed for 5 hours then the anxiety of giving a talk, hoping everyone is having a good experience, etc, then the rush of calm as I sat there, just loving everyone and everything and being so grateful for our branch family, the other missionaries who helped, and this awesome message that Sorella O and I are sharing.
President and Sorella Allen came! Greatest mission Mission President couple. They drove all the way from Milano to say congrats to the two boys and "good job" to us.
The Ravenna Anziani were here most of the day, helping us set up the baptismal font and a million other things. We were all super hungry and just wanted to order pizza. In Italy. Shouldn't be too hard, being in Italy and all, right? We ended up calling every single pizzeria in Forlì. Nobody was opened, thanks to it being both vacation month and lunch time. Not being able to get a pizza is something I never thought I'd experience while here in Italy, but it happened. We ended up going to the grocery store and making sandwiches.
The baptism went so well. The Spirit was so strong! Anz. S and Sorella H did a beautiful musical number, I didn't biff my talk, and everyone was so loving and welcoming to everyone else. We even had 3 investigators show up! (But something always has to go wrong. We forgot to fill out the baptismal certificates. We'll get on that.)
Both men who were baptized are 25 year old males... guess we have a type, huh? JK we teach whoever will listen or is too polite to say "go away".
They don't clean the baptismal area until there's a baptism...we killed a whole colony of spiders living in that room. It took many hours earlier in the week to get the room ready, super worth it, of course.
President and Sorella Allen stayed in Forlì overnight, and came to sacrament meeting with us! Also, an American family with 4 little blond children showed up and I felt like I was back in a Niceville ward sacrament meeting. And they're moving here!!!! Sor. O moved to go translate for them so I got to translate for C.
Pointless week events and facts:
- Sorella O got pooped on by a pigeon.
- it was Greek week at Lidl. We bought 12 sesame seed bars.
- the highlight of last P-day in Rimini was my nap on a couch in the Sorelle's air-conditioned appartment.
- discovered that there is peanut butter at African stores. It's different, but still tastes good with jam and bread!
- We have become self-appointed wedding critics thanks to the icloud photoshare between the Sorelle for wedding pictures only
- discovered that I DO like orzo, as long as it has a 2:3 ratio with nesquick.
- got my bike seat stolen. Good thing the thief was kind enough to replace it with a super janky one. Not that mine was that nice but still...it was a good reminder that things can always be worse.
- it's senior week aka I get to be the one getting us lost and don't have to carry the 2 kg key ring anymore.
- didn't get seconds at a member's house and I think that hurt her feelings. Sorry, but I'd like to still fit in some of my clothes next transfer.
- transfer predictions: I'm staying in Forlì and Sor. O is going to be an STL. That's according to kinder egg toys.
Pictures!!! So awkward baptismal photos? Worse than prom pictures... anyways, that's not why we do baptisms.
District pic, we're sitting on chairs for the # of transfers we have done.
Last week in Rimini, at La Romagna, where they put warm nutella in the bottom of the cone!
Lots and lots of love!
Sorella Rachel Riley
