P-day in the Alps
"There's no growth in the comfort zone and no comfort in the growth zone" and this week has been pretty darn uncomfortable.
Torino is pretty much the opposite of Forlì in every way possible. This city is huge and overwhelming and kind of scary. We're figuring out the busses and trams and metros one wrong stop at a time.
It's really fun and useful living with another companionship. They're awesome and help us out a lot. I feel like I have 3 comps now. We all go running and do meals and other activities together. They're great.
Our district went to this thing at the University of Torino. It was in appreciation of the 500th year of the protestant reformation. Apparently it was a big deal. There were members who came from Rome and Bari. A BYU world religions professor came to speak but they didn't end up letting him. There were some Buddhists, Christians, and a Muslim. The most interesting one was the Muslim bc he had a well-organized speech. It pretty much just proved why there was the need for a restoration. Obviously the reformation wasn't enough.
For P-day we hopped on a train and we're now on the very edge of our mission, the part up by France. We got off at a tiny town and started hiking a mountain. We have a great view. Like we can see France. But I think we're still in Italy. Not a bad place to draft emails.
Ok that's all for now. Keep reading the Book of Mormon And praying and all that good stuff!
Love,
Sorella Rachel Riley
